High-Value Items Responsibility Policy

1. PURPOSEThe purpose of this policy is to define the scope of responsibility of Lyons Restores by Arrow (“COMPANY”) and establish strict limitations regarding the handling, custody, and liability for high-value, irreplaceable, or prohibited items during pack-out, transport, storage, and restoration services.

2. ABSOLUTE EXCLUSIONS (ITEMS WE NEVER TAKE)Lyons Restores by Arrow strictly prohibits the packing, handling, or transport of the following items. These items MUST be removed and secured by the CLIENT before our team enters the property:
  • Currency: Cash, coins, bank notes, or any form of legal tender.
  • Jewelry & Stones: Precious stones, high-value jewelry, watches, or gemstones.
  • Vital Documents: Passports, deeds, wills, titles, financial records, or legal certificates.
  • Irreplaceable Sentimental Items: Family heirlooms, original photos (not digitally backed up), or items with personal value that cannot be quantified by market price.
  • Custom-Made & Unique Items: One-of-a-kind commissions, bespoke pieces, or unique artwork that is physically impossible to replace or replicate.
  • Small Valuables: Any item of extraordinary monetary value that can be easily misplaced.
Note: The COMPANY assumes zero liability for the loss or damage of the items listed above. They are never considered to be in our chain of custody, and no monetary compensation will be offered for them under any circumstances.

3. CLIENT OBLIGATION TO SECURE VALUABLESThe CLIENT is solely responsible for identifying, removing, and securing all High-Value or Prohibited Items listed in Section 2 before the commencement of work.
  • Failure by the CLIENT to remove such items constitutes an acknowledgment that the COMPANY will not assume custody, responsibility, or liability for those items.
  • COMPANY personnel are not authorized to open safes, move jewelry boxes, or inventory cash/documents.

4. MANDATORY "HIGH-VALUE ITEMS FORM"Prior to any pack-out or service, the CLIENT must complete, sign, and date the "High-Value Items Form." This is a mandatory condition of service.
  • Mandatory Declaration: The CLIENT must either list specific high-value items (other than the excluded items in Section 2) they wish for the COMPANY to handle OR affirmatively state that no such items are present.
  • Effect of Non-Declaration: Any high-value item not listed on the Form shall be presumed to have remained in the CLIENT’S possession. Such items will be treated as excluded property and will not be subject to handling, tracking, or liability.

5. TREATMENT OF DECLARED COSTLY ITEMSIf the CLIENT requests that the COMPANY handle expensive items (e.g., electronics, high-end furniture) and they are listed on the Form:
  • They will be handled with special care and documented by a Project Lead.
  • Liability: In the event of loss or damage, the claim will be evaluated according to standard company policies.
  • Ongoing Exclusion: Even if listed on a form, the COMPANY never assumes responsibility for cash, vital documents, or high-end jewelry.

6. CHAIN OF CUSTODY LIMITATIONSBecause High-Value or Prohibited Items are excluded from services:
  • They will not be included in digital inventories, barcoding, or storage records.
  • The COMPANY cannot verify the existence, condition, or location of such items.
  • The absence of an item from the COMPANY’s inventory records shall constitute prima facie evidence that the COMPANY did not take custody of that item.

7. LIMITATION OF LIABILITYTo the maximum extent allowed under applicable Missouri law:
  • Lyons Restores by Arrow shall not be liable for loss, theft, or damage to any High-Value Item that was not expressly declared and accepted in writing.
  • The CLIENT retains sole responsibility for the safekeeping of prohibited items and is encouraged to use a safe deposit box or secure third-party custodian.
  • If a CLIENT believes a High-Value Item is missing, they should contact their insurance carrier to determine if the item is covered under their policy.

8. CLIENT ACKNOWLEDGMENTBy signing the Work Authorization and the High-Value Items Form, the CLIENT:
  1. Acknowledges receipt and understanding of this Policy.
  2. Confirms they have removed all Currency, Jewelry, and Irreplaceable Documents.
  3. Accepts that any undeclared item is outside the COMPANY’s custody and not subject to liability.
